Currently, the X61 has an T7100 cpu 1.8 ghz 2mb cache cpu or a T7300 2 ghz 4mb cache cpu with free ultra connect antenna. My question is, does the ultra connect antenna only help with WWAN networks such as verizon's or does it also help with N networks? I'm having a tough time deciding between these two because if the external antenna only helps with WWAN networks (which I don't plan on using) then I'd rather have the laptop without the antenna, however if I want the 2ghz cpu (which I do because of the extra cache) then I'm stuck with the useless external antenna. What do you guys think?

Also, are there any benchmarks yet on the T7100 versus T7300.

Lol that is so weird that of the 3 options, only the middle one forces you to select the ultraconnect. If you pick 2.2Ghz then the option isn't there. I'd give sales a call.

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 (1.80GHz, 2MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB L2, 800MHz FSB)

    Elfroggo,
Yes, it is very strange. I did try giving sales a call earlier in the day and they said they couldn't do anything about removing the antenna unless I changed the processor, so I kept it the way it was.
