Hey all, I just ordered a T61p, im going to use it for univeristy and I am wondering if I should invest in an Ultra bay battery to get an extra hour or so of batt. life,
mine is coming with a 9 cell battery but im thinking I might be away from a power source for more than 3 hours at school.

What do you guys think? Is it worth the money for an ultra bay battery?

yea i got the ultrabay battery because i didnt want the battery to protrude and i only need about 3 hours of battery life so the 4+3 setup is good for me.
in most classrooms, you can find electrical outlets so just sit by those if you need

I have an ultrabay, and 2 9 cells. I kind of wish one of my nine cells was a six cell though, because I'm finding it difficult to move my laptop around in my backpack, although it fits in all of my other bags.
I love the idea of the ultra bay, and it's definitley more useful than the dvd burner when i'm out in the field or studying at starbucks. However, the two nine cells plus the ultrabay will hopefully give me at least 7 hours of work time at full blast without juice.

Btw, the ultrabay battery and the 9 or 6 cell battery do not charge at the same time, one fills, and then the other. I don't know if it drains one or the other, or which one it might drain first though.
