The Lenovo Site is a good place to start :)

I did not see prices on the Venezuelan site though. That laptop is a little weak, having a Celeron processor...

Hi Isend, thank you for replying.

I'll be buying the laptop in the USA, and I'm looking for a decent deal on a 14.1" business laptop, but I have seen the things are not what they use to be... Laptops are expensive today than a few years ago, I dont know why...

I need to stick in my budget but the nicest deal I have found on the lenovo website is the SL400, but I ignore the tax charge for Massachusetts. So I can't have a precise price.

Good luck with that :). Pretty hard to get that with shipping and taxes. I think $650-700 is going to be more realistic.

Yes, I looked at the Lenovo outlet and the T60 laptops sound pretty atractive to me.

I think you are right jaredy, but I dont have that kind of cash right now, maybe you could help me to find a better option for me?

    Thanks

These Are 15.6" laptops, but they're light at only 5.4 lbs. They're also only $350 & $430, Dell's but they are business notebooks so their laptops should be similar to the ThinkPad's (I think), I'm trying to find a review of it to know.

Perhaps in South America, but not here. There is on occasion R61s in the Outlet Store for $500 or less if you willing to wait til they come along.

If you're willing to consider a Dell, the Vostro 1400 from the Dell Outlet might be worth a look. It offers fairly decent construction and has a pretty good keyboard in my opinion.

Is not only about the weight, is the comfort when you carry the laptop out, and when you place it on your lap, that's why I want a 14" notebook ;)

ZaZ, I rarely consider the prices here in South America, because I have the chance to get some of my tech product from the US, but I don't know, I've seen that new laptops in the USA are fairly more expensive today that they were a year back, or maybe Im wrong.

About the Outlet, I have checked out the prices and they are quite attractive, in your experience, do you think according with your experience that buy a refurbished laptop from the Outlet?

Thank you for the advice martin, but I would prefer a T400 lol

They are more expensive because the dollar is worth less.

Against my currency the dollar is stronger than ever, but six months ago it was really really cheap.

    But you are right.

The Lenovo SL is probably as good as an HP or Dell, however it is not a true Thinkpad (weaker construction, 6 row keyboard, no Thinklight, no rollcage, etc.). If you want quality I would suggest you get a T61, T60, or even a T43. All of them are superb machines (I used a 14.1" T40 for 5 years).
