UltraBay Slim Battery

I bought an UltraBay Slim Battery model number 08K8191 on Ebay for my R61.

The Lenovo website shows that this should work with the R61.

But I can't get the battery to fit in the UltraBay slot properly. The slot is much bigger than the battery but it doesn't insert all the way.

Do I need some sort of an adapter or is there something else I am doing wrong?

The slot is a regular Ultrabay not Ultrabay slim for the R61, hence your problem. Maybe they will take it back because it will not fit and the auction indicated it would.

thanks - I had kind of figured that after trying to jam it in a few different ways that it wouldn't work.

I am confused though why the Lenovo site itself lists it as compatible. I also had read on a thread here talking about R61 vs T61:

"The R61 has Ultrabay Enhanced, which actually has more expansion options than Ultrabay Slim, since Enhanced can use Slim devices, but not vice versa."

Anyway, it really isn't the fault of the auction seller, so I'll probably just put it back on ebay myself...
