Which one is more popular for everyday use? I know they are very different items, but I want to know what more people are using with there X220. Also, where is the best (cheapest) place to get the dock?

Also, I remember seeing the Slice battery for the X220. Did it just completely disappear off the face of the planet?

I am so excited to get my X220 est ship of 9/8. I already got the C4 128GB SSD and 8GB of ram waiting to call it home!

    Congratulations on your new purchase.

If you have (or plan to have) more than one thinkpad, the Minidock is obviously a better option, but if you're planning on sticking to the X220 for long, the ultrabase 3 might be desirable because of the added advantage of the ultrabay. Remember that the slice battery would not fit with the X220 + dock though.

I would suggest you to hold out for a while until you receive the X220. If you really like it a lot and will plan on keeping it for years, then go for the ultrabase. Otherwise, the minidock would be a better choice. You can always drop in a cheap external DVD-RW or even bluray reader/writer.

Thanks for your response. You feedback in the other thread has me concerned. I am seriously considering cancelling the order now. Do exchanges still carry the 15% restocking fee?
