I see both the Adapter II and the Adapter III are listed as compatible with the ultrabase x200. Which one is better? The adapter II is discontinued. What is the difference between Adapter II and Adapter III?

adapter iii includes support for later model thinkpads, while the adapter ii does not. I would go with the most current drive as possible.

Thanks for the reply. But is there any difference in thickness between the Adapter II and III? I read somewhere that Adapter III is slimmer, so there is a gap when you install it in the ultrabay.

I don't remember exactly where. I just remember reading somewhere that with Adapter III, because it can be used on the thinner T410s, it is thinner than the older Adapater II.

ultrabay slim on the T400s is the same spec as ultrabay slim on the other machines.
