So I have a T60 from work. I'd like to use it as my personal machine also, without effecting the company's install. I was thinking of buying a 200gb hdd and an ultrabay adapter and then throwing it in the ultrabay once I've installed an OS on it.

I am under the impression from a google search that the Ultrabay adapter is indeed bootable. The next question is whether it is faster, slower, or the same as the regular drive slot.

Thirdly, is it possible to hibernate (to disk) work's XP, then start the machine and choose my OS(Ubuntu? Vista?)... Run that for a bit. Then hibernate that, and boot choosing the Company's OS again, and have it boot back into the same state? Can anyone comment?

Hibernating Windows XP will make that hard drive boot that no matter what other operating system have been installed on it. It might be possible to boot into something else in the other drive though, just make sure it's before the hibernated drive in the BIOS.

I pulled my 100GB 7200 out and added a 200GB 7200 internally.... then realized I forgot to run ABR to backup my activation info.... so I booted off Vista Ultimate in the Ultrabay, worked like a champ. This was in my T61p, but I believe it would work in the T60 line as well (I could test later).

LaptopGuru, did you just choose it in the boot menu(F12 on boot)?
