My T410 is on the way, and thought I'd look into getting some add-ons for it already. I'm wanting to get an Ultrabay battery, but just want to make I'm getting the right kind. Let me state what I know and point out if my understanding is wrong.
I've read that the T410 is compatible with a Serial Ultrabay Slim, but can work with just an Ultrabay Slim battery. That battery is actually compatible with older models like the T40, T60, and T61 to name a few, so I can just buy an old one of these off eBay or something and plug those into my T410 with no issues?
I was wondering though, since batteries do age and have a lifespan - could there be any issues in buying an Ultrabay Slim battery that might have been made back in the T40's days? Are there any recommended retailers to buy a reliable battery from, or would buying a random one off eBay do the trick?

T410 can't use ultrabay battery. Only the T410s retain this compatibility out of all the new Thinkpads. So what you propose won't work. You should just get the 27++ battery that attaches to the bottom of your laptop.
