Can the Ultrabay devices (battery, dvd drive) safely be exchanged on the fly (without shutting down)?

    Thanks

I have been hot swapping my ultrabay battery and dvd-rw drive on my T61 without any problems. In my windows taskbar there is an icon to safely remove hardware, but i've never bothered with it. If you swap in a hard drive it would probably be smart to use the safely remove hardware option.
