I have a T420 and a T400 aftermarket ultrabay caddy. When I put the caddy into my ultrabay slot, I hear the hard drive power up and the indicator light on the caddy turns on. Windows device manager says that the drivers for it were properly installed and shows the name of my Fujitsu hard drive in the caddy. However, when I open up windows explorer, the hard drive does not show up and I cannot access the drive. Device manager shows the Fujitsu hard drive being connected as well. For some reason, I just cannot access my hard drive... The caddy works perfectly fine in my T400. Do I need to buy a new caddy for this computer? (I don't mind the gap) or does anyone have any suggestions to get Windows to start reading the drive?

Did you create a partition, format it, and assign a drive letter in disk manager? If this was done previously, launch disk manager again and verify the status and drive letter.

Disk management in Windows did the trick. I opened it up, it showed the drive there as a foreign volume and I was able to right click the icon and import it. Thanks!
