    Hi

I just bought a T410S~ I really don't use the CD/DVD drive with pretty much any of the computers I've used...occasional software installation, rarely any movies.

Is there any of you out there who bought a cover for ultrabay slim? (I'm presuming the laptop model does not matter since Ultrabay slim stays the same design for all laptops?) I found some on eBay, but I'm not sure if it's going to work and would like to hear from any of you who have purchased some sort of cover from ebay or wherever.

    Thanks!

I've been trying to find one of those for almost a year! (I too was not sure about the ones on Ebay as they are not specifically for my T400. I think there was a slight size modification after the T40's. Might still fit, but unsure.)

Edit to add: I just saw one (for the 410, part number as above) on eBay for $112!! That's ridiculous. It would be cheaper to order it directly from IBM. I have found the one for mine (T400) from IBM, I just didn't want to pay their order processing fee, which is also ridiculous, but nowhere near this! (To everyone: please don't pay $112 for a cheap piece of plastic.) If you really want to splurge, just go to IBM directly and order the part from them.

Now, if anyone comes across one for the T400 (at a reasonable price), please let me know.

Oh well, I went ahead and ordered one on ebay. Not sure if it will really fit mine as it is the part number for the t40 series, but will give it a go. Will let you all know if it fits okay.

Please tell me that you bought a cheaper one on ebay and did not actually pay $112 for it. I am sure lots of people here would be happy to sell you theirs for less than half that price...

Just stick in an empty HDD bay. Even the genuine one from lenovo is only $60 or so.

    smart idea.

I can't believe they actually charge 112 dollars for a travel bezel. When you order them with the laptop it is only like couple of dollars extra.

    i bought one from sparepartswarehouse...around $35

I dont know why lenovo charges so much for it...it's just a piece of plastic designed to fit into the slot and keep dust out

35 dollars? My god i wonder why the cottage industry did not get a whiff of this.... it certainly is lot easier to make than the ultrabay hdd adapters...... probably the market is too small.
