    Hi all,

Before I contacted Lenovo, I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this problem with their lenovo laptop. For some reason or another, I am unable to remove my optical drive from the ultrabay. The optical drive still works perfectly fine, however when I slide the ejection latch as indicated, the entire drive does not eject from the ultrabay. I hope it is not a problem with the base cover assembly because I think these are difficult to replace....

I think the problem is with the ultrabay ejection latch. I don't see an ejection lock latch as there is on the T400..

the pull tab should come out... allowing you to pull the drive out. If that didn't pop out, then it would mean it broke.

In that case then you would need to send it off to warranty.

The pull tab does not come out. I guess it's a problem with the ejection latch or the tab itself....hopefully it doesn't take a lot to fix.

Hopefully it doesn't cost much. I found a base cover for $50 bucks online. I think I might try and replace it myself.
