    Hi All,

I am considering the x220 and would like to know what is the difference between the ultrabay series 3 vs mini dock? Is it possible to have USB 3.0 connection with either one of them if I did not go for the i7 CPU?

The ultrabase 3 gives you an ultrabay slot, the other docks do not. Since the X220 doesn't have an ultrabay, that's the main benefit of the ultrabase over the dock.

If you do not need an ultrabay slot (optical drive, second hard drive), then the minidock is probably a better option.

The Series 3 dock can also be used with other models of thinkpads like T400s, T410s, T420s, T410/420, T510/520, etc.
