I'm an X220 owner. I don't know if it's possible, but I would like to have scrolling behavior similar to Apple laptops-- meaning I'd like for the page to coast for a few inches after I flick down or up and release my finger(s)--(for one finger and/or two finger scrolling). The way it works now, if I use the Ultranav options to enable coasting on either one finger or two finger and flick down/up, the scroll bar races at high speed to the end/beginning of the document. I'd like to be able to control the speed or extent of the coasting. I know this can be done on trackpoint/center button, but would like to have it on the pad as well.

I have been looking into the same issue as well for the past days, but without success. I using the Smooth Scrolling extension in Chrome that works beautifully, but for other programs I haven't found a solution.

I only have had a Thinkpad for a few days, but other Synaptics Touchpads I have used in the past had an option for "Smooth Scrolling" - or is that what is meant by Coasting (sorry, I have the German drivers). I couldn't find this option neither in the UltraNav nor in the unbranded Synaptics drivers. The only workaround I have found is to set the scroll speed to 1 or 2 lines in the generic windows mouse settings. But this affects Mouse Wheel scrolling as well, and is therefore not perfect.

Download TwoFingerScroll for Macbook-like scrolling. Works perfectly for me.

That does indeed work very nicely. Any Idea how to accomplish this for Trackpoint scrolling as well?
