    Unable to install HD firmware update for x61 without ultrabase!

    There is a HD firmware update on Lenovo's website for the x61 series, but you cannot upgrade unless you have the ultrabase! Has anybody found a way around this?

    No a usb drive will not work!

    And i have no idea what the F&*$ this means "Can you install ultrabase then delete it"

    You have to boot from the disk, so the virtual disks won't work.
