    Unable to install RR on T500 upgraded from XP to Win 7

    I have a T500. Just bought a Win 7 Pro 64-bit license and had a clean install. The machine works just fine.

    After the clean install, I followed this link:

    Windows 7 Clean Installation - ThinkPad

    and installed various drivers by using ThinkVantage System Update 4.01. I notice one thing is missing: Rescue and Recovery utility.

    Did a google search and find the Rescue and Recovery 4.50 download at

    Rescue and Recovery® 4.50 by Lenovo

    I downloaded it but the install failed because it does not support upgrade from a legacy system (also confused here. Didn't I have a clean install, not upgrade?)

    I really like RR because it is easy to create a set of bootable CD/DVDs to restore the system completely.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Does anyone know how I can install RR on my T500. I just had a clean install (not upgrade) of Win 7 Pro 64bit. It had XP Pro 32-bit before.

    Solved it myself. Found RR 4.3 version and it is installable on my T500. Dont know why RR 4.5 cannot. Lenovo says both are for Win 7.
