This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Unable to install Thinkpad Hotkey Version 1.31.0610

    Dear Forum,

    Can somebody please advise how to fix this install problem?

    - I ran ThinkVantage System Update (v. 3.14.0029) on my Thinkpad T43 (Windows XP Pro SP3)

    - I selected and installed all critical and recommended updates

    - Reboot went fine without any noticeable problems

    Then I ran ThinkVantage System Update again

    - A new critical update 'ThinkPad Hotkey Features Setup' (v. 1.31.0610) appeared

    - Selected download and install

    - The system reaches 'overall progress 91%' then a box appears saying

    ' Please uninstall the current package first before installing a previous version'

    'FN Onscreen Display Version: 3.40.01 Installed Version: 6.10.01'

    'ThinkPad FullScreen Magnifier Version: 1.17 Installed Version: 2.15'

    'ThinkPad Web navigation keys agent Version 1.11 Installed Version: <--'

    I am not sure what the '<--' is for the final item, but that is what shows on the screen.

    If I click cancel for the above box, the system shows '1 Package was successfully downloaded and installed'. Moreover, 'view installation history' shows 'Thinkpad Hotkey Features Setup - Version 1.31.610 Status: Installed'.
