I'm trying to install the downloaded driver for my Lenovo ThinkCentre A61 9120CTO (I'm sorry for asking a desktop question.), but the error message keeps popping up, saying that the audio driver does not support my computer hardware. However, this is the only audio driver available for the A61 series. It then says I should uninstall the current driver, restart, then try again with the installation. Now the problem is that every time after I uninstalled the "High Definition Audio" driver through Device Manager, I restart, Windows automatically reinstalls its default driver. I need to install the new driver because the current default driver does not work with earphones. Please help me either with identifying the correct driver to install or completely remove the default driver. Thank you so much.

Can anyone give me an answer? Desperate computer newbie here.

you sure that you plugged in the headphones into the right jack AND pushed it in all the way?

Well, I'm pretty sure I plugged it into the right jack, I even tried the one in the back. The thing is that it's not that headphone doesn't produce any sound, it's that the computer does not automatically switch to headphone output. I have to click on the speaker icon on the lower right corner, and then set headphone output to default. I've never encountered such problem before, does anyone know how I can make it switch automatically?

I apologize for my impatience, if it offended you in any way. I was just sort of agitated by an irrelevant post made by another user, which seems to be deleted just now. Once again I apologize. I really appreciate the help provided by people on this forum.
