My two backups are taking too much space from my HDD so I wan't to remove them but when I try to do so the pop-up saying "Wait while the backups are being removed" (it's not the exact translation since R&R is installed in swedish) never seem to close. I just can't remove those **** backups. What to do? Is there any other way to remove them?

    Thanks in advance!

If you are using Windows explorer to delete them, which I am not sure if you are or not, you may want to try a program called Unlocker found at filehippo.com. It will delete the backup sets immediately or at bootup, depending upon their current state. Hope to help :)

My operating system is WinXP PRO.

I have Unlocker but how do I use that program to delete the backups and how to do so using Windows Explorer? Don't think I really understand what you mean. :(

how come it is stored on your HD? Other than system restore I don't have anything on the HD.. or do I as well? Vista boot recovery dvds are on dvds, windows backup (images of the system) are stored on DVDs as well. Did you specify "put on HD"?

Unlocker is a program that once activated, it will show up in the tray as well as right click menu. You may use it on any file in the Windows Explorer (the screen you see when you hit "My Computer, etc.". I think you may be trying to delete a backup from a program included on the Lenovo. In this case, Unlocker may not work. You may have to manually find the backup file in the explorer either in your user directory, second partition, or program directory of my programs, then delete it.

O, ok. From within this program, can you get a detailed filename, a right click->properties, even a total size? With any or some of the parameters, you should be able to search your drive for the file. The easiest will be using a file size program that scours your drive for the largest files. A good one to use is JDiskReport.
