I have my new T400 and it had loaded the trial version of Office 2007. I have my own licensed copy of office 2003 that I am fine continuing to use. I used add/remove program to unintall 2007. I installed Office 2003 and it seemed to install fine.

When I start any of the Office applications, I get a dialogue box that says:

"BCM Office Addin" (this is in the top border of the dialogue box)

In the box the message says:

    "Office Application version doesn't match"

If I close the box, the application seems to work.

Are there other related apps that I needed to uninstall when i uninstalled office 2007. For example, in the installed program list is a program called "Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies" There are others as well.

Any thoughts other than clean install?

In the future you should use a program like Revo Uninstaller to remove applications (especially one as complicated as Office 2007). This will run a registry and system file search to clear out all the related elements that are left after a normal uninstall.

That is no longer an option, so my best guess would be to search around the registry and start menu to see if anything obvious is still lying around (make recovery discs first though, cause you might screw something up when you poke around in the registry).

thanks. I can of course do a restore and go back to yesterday before I uninstalled office 2007.

However, I did some more google research and learned that the problem is caused by business contact manager 2007, which has to be uninstalled seperately. Here are a couple of links to other forums where it is discussed.

That makes sense. I had to uninstall that thing as well because it harassed me every time I opened Outlook (and I use Office 2007).
