    University purchase delay...... Help

    Hello everyone....

    I have ordered thinkpad t61p with educational institution account using purchase order on 13th feb along with accessories (webcam, additional battery, travel mouse, cable lock and ac/dc adaptor). The estimated shipping date for my system is today (3rd March) but nothing has been shipped yet (accessories are also not shipped). I placed the order over phone from our Lenovo sales representative.

    I contacted Lenovo sales representative and he forwarded me a message which said my accessories were printed on LIPC together and will be shipped on 26th Feb when everything is available. Unfortunately nothing has been shipped, all the estimated shipping days for accessories advance everyday. :mad:

    I had a similiar experience with past purchase of t61 ordered on 18th Oct 2007. After 3 weeks my representative told me that the configuration has an error message BAPI failed and he created a new order. The system was finally delivered on 26th sept 2007. :eek: So before placing order, i asked and he said that the order will be shipped in 2 weeks adn he will try his best to expedite the order.

    I need the system within 2-3 days as i have to configure it and have to travel to train my project 8th March.


    Does anyone have experience with educational institution purchase/ can anyone suggest what can be done? :confused: :confused:

    I was able to talk to account manager who is working on getting the order delivered by Thursday. If all goes well i should have my laptop before the weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed.. :)

    Laptop still not shipped, turns out that everything is set for shipping but waiting for Travel mouse (waiting for almost 10 days :mad: :mad: ). I also asked the account manager to split the orders and ship whats available but the global supply chain person is not intelligent enough and do this and wants to wait for all the components before shipping.

    So anyone ordering travel mouse or any other accessories, make sure you order them seperately.

    A lesson learned the hard way! :mad:

    probably the reason why they don't want to ship it separately is because they ship from China and it's kind of expensive to ship two packages instead of just bundling it in one.

    It might be the reason, however while placing the order my representative told me that the accessories are usually shipped within US and i should get them earlier.

    The account manager was also not sure why the order has not been split and being delayed for more than 10 days just for the stupid mouse.
