    I have a T61 with Cingular/ATT's WWAN.
Has anybody yet figured out how to unlock this thing so that I can stick a different provider's SIM card in.
I search everywhere on Google, and I did not find anything substantial.

A co-worker claims it isn't possible after months of trying. If you do figure it let us know. If we do I'll post it here, but so far no dice.

Nothing is impossible. Especially in this case. From what I have read, the card that comes with a t61 has 2100mhz which means that it is also designed to work outside the US. So that implies that it can be unlocked and used elsewhere.

Just FYI - finally, after spending too much time trying to get a subsidy unlock code from Cingular (they said the IMEI of my card wasn't in their system) and being sent back and forth by Lenovo tech.support (who pretty much had no idea what I was talking about), got the Cingular WWAN card (Sierra Wireless MC8775) in my Lenovo T61p unlocked with dc-unlocker.com's software, which cost me EUR15. Phew!

the 8775 module from sierra runs at HSDPA, that is for europe and asia. Are you using this module in USA (the 8775)?
