When my hard drive is working, there is the usual sound but every once in a while, I hear a clicking noise coming from the hard drive. The clicking noise is louder than the usual sound of the hard drive working. It's not really loud but it's definitely a clicking noise that I have not heard from hard drives before. I am just wondering if any one else has this. I have the 14.1 T60. Thanks for your help!

I think what you are talking about is the Hard disk spinning down or back up again. You can disable it by setting the hard disk not to spin down. NHC can do this or the hard disk utility from the manufactuer. Spin down uses less power but I have not noticed less battery life after disabling it.

i feel that its normal as it makes this sort of sounds while accessing information on multiple platters
if you still feel insecure about this roblem i would recommend that you try runnig hdd diagnostics software whcih can be found at the support section of the hard drive manufacturers website
alternatively you could download some third party software such as HDtune to check for errors or damages
also try defragmenting the drive which im sure will hlp redue the noise by a small factor if not at all
