    Updating Bios problems now

    I updated my bios on my x201 , and know the fun does not shut off. Is thre a way to reinstall the old Bios?

    Secondly is it a bad idea to update a bios?

    Very often Yes. Only update if you actually have problems that might be solved by a fix in a new bios version. And if you update, use the iso image for a CD and double-check that it was burned correctly.

    Click on the "Learn More" link on the BIOS update page and the linked page has the previous BIOS releases listed near the bottom.

    Personally, I haven't had problems with doing the Windows-based BIOS updates. The BIOS updater effectively shuts down Windows before starting work.
