    Upgrade E420s with BluRay drive

    Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the slot-loading DVD drive in the E420s with a BluRay drive?

    The service manual has instructions on how to replace it, however it is flagged as a non user serviceable part.

    Would a drive like the Sony Optiarc 5640H be suitable? I didn't find the specs for the built in one anywhere, especially the type of connector used.

    Any help or hints would be appreciated

    My guess and it's a guess is that it'll probably work, but probably the biggest issue is whether the bezel will line up. It might be possible to swap them, but without having seen either, it's hard to say with any certainty. You might have to be the guinea pig on this one.
