This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Upgrade Rescue and Recover from 3.1 to 4.0 ?

    Hi there,

    I'm looking for some advice - just bought a new PC and been going through all the updates. Rescue and Recovery 4.0 is offered as one, but when I click on it there are all manner of warnings about facitilities that will no longer work with the new version.

    I cannot find anything that tells me what I'd gain from the upgrade, can anyone advise whether I should upgrade or if I'm better off as I am?

    On my T60 the upgrade process broke RnR and it crashed each time the comptuer booted into windows. On my C100 it went fine after a few odd hiccups. Not really sure what changed. Interface looks the same, backups and whatnot looks the same, and even the recovery console area looks the same. I am guessing it was just a major update needed for RnR to be Vista compatible.
