I have asked before and suggested to upgrade HD. I now am running T60/2623-D6U w/ 1.83 Dual Core, 3Gb RAM, Hitachi 320GB 7200, recently replaced screen from Lenovo as it went bad (SXGA+) So it's reuuning NICE :) But... still curious as to upgrading the processor to a Core2 Duo. Will that put the icing onthe cake, or just give it a subtle boost?? Is it worth it at this point. The HD was defenitely worth it.

    Thanks

That's a good amount of CPU work. You should see a significant boost in performance if you upgrade to Core 2 Duo.

The T2400 is socket M, so you can upgrade to the following if your BIOS supports it,

    Core 2 Duo T5300 - 1.73 GHz, 2 Mb, 533 MHz, M
    Core 2 Duo T5500 - 1.67 GHz, 2 Mb, 677 MHz, M
    Core 2 Duo T5600 - 1.83 GHz, 2 Mb, 677 MHz, M
    Core 2 Duo T7200 - 2.0 GHz, 4 Mb, 677 MHz, M
    Core 2 Duo T7400 - 2.16 GHz, 4 Mb, 677 MHz, M
    Core 2 Duo T7600 - 2.33 GHz, 4 Mb, 677 MHz, M

I upgraded to a T7400 from a T2300e. To be honest it's not that big of a difference. I really only did it cause I got a great deal on the T7400. I don't see your needs as being particularly CPU intensive. Memory is more important for the multi-tasking.
