    I have a 14.1" wxga+ T61 thinkpad with a 2.2GHz T7500. Is it possible to upgrade my lappy with a new Penryn 45nm cpu? I want to throw a 2.5GHz T9300 in there.

Yes it is possible, but not a whole load of point in spending all that money for a little speed increase and a little more battery life...

Would void warranty but technically should be able to. As for bios compatibility I'm not sure...have to check the latest bios.
If it uses the same bios as the other Penryn models then its no problem.

Agreed. It's likely a T9300 will cost $350-400. And in comparison, upgrades like maxing out the ram, or a 7200rpm hard disk would cost far less, and yet give a far better return on the investment.
