Upgrade US Warranty to International Warranty

Hello,

I just bought a IBM x61s (7668CTO) and really love it. But it comes with an US only 1 year Warranty. (I think so because when looking warranty information I can see United-States).
Living actually in France I want to know if it is possible to upgrade this warranty to 1 or 3 years International warranty.
If possible how to do it? or which number to contact.

I e-mailed Lenovo about an IWS warranty on a T61p and got the following response:

The IWS status is governed by the first four digits of the model, i.e., 7662: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s....do?type=7662&x=0&y=0&iws=on&sitestyle=lenovo

The only T61ps sold in the US with IWS that I know of are 6457, 6458 and 6460. You can get a couple of those from Best Buy for Business ( http://www.bestbuybusiness.com/), but they tend to be much more expensive than the standard Lenovo models.

For those that may be interested, I've found that these are the t61p model numbers having IWS:

- 6457
- 6458
- 6460
- 8889
- 8890

If you are aware of other numbers, please update this list.
