I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade A W520 from a Quadro 1000M to a 2000M (or any other graphics card)?

If I'm not mistaken the graphics card is soldered on the motherboard, so there is no way to upgrade it.

No way to upgrade the graphics. You're stuck with either the 1000M or the 2000M (whichever you originally bought).

you could snag a W520 motherboard with a 2000m card in it. They may take a while to appear on ebay though..

Is the W520 not MXM card like the M4600/M6600? And I thought W520 offered Quadro 3000M if I'm not mistaken.

Nope, and the best GPU offered in the W520 was the 2000M. I wish Lenovo would have offered the FirePro M5950 though :)

Most likely not. You can; however, make a DIY ViDock.

Internally, the W530 very closely resembles the W520. It will not have MXM (which is barely a standard as is, seeing as manufacturers often tweak it for their own notebooks).
