So with the new NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GDDR5 2GB in the new y5oo's , if you have a Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M in the one you have, is it upgradeable? Can you put in a 750? ( I am thinking of getting one but the ones in the stores are still the 650's) Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the graphics card is upgradeable or not? Just wondering if I should buy one in the store and upgrade it later or buy it online with the new graphics card in?

It is not upgradable because the GPU is soldered on the motherboard. This system is not 'that much' customizable. Even if you get the external GPU (the bay) with GT750M, it may work, but unfortunately at the GT650M's speed, because that is what you have on board. Though you may have a chance that it may not work at all.

So, the best choice is either sell it and get the upgraded machine, or simply enjoy what you have. I do not believe that it is that much worth changing your machine only because of the new GPU cards.

How much can you get if you sold the Y500 with the dual 650m's?

I am not sure how much you can get from your laptop, but I know you would get more if you take it into a computer store. Best Buy has a trade in that I know of. Try computer stores near you and see what there conditions are for a trade in. You can try to look up your laptop on ebay and see what past deals have sold for so you can get a estimate on the price. Online sites may try to low ball the price since they cannot see the condition or actual specs.
