Earlier this week, I upgraded my Switchable Graphics spec T400 from Vista Home Premium 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.
First off, I typically use integrated graphics and level 4 brightness when I am on the battery. When I had vista, I used to be able to pull at least 4 hours on the battery. After upgrading, I am only getting around 3 hours on integrated. I've installed the latest version of my power management drivers, Power manager, graphics driver etc, and kept most of my power settings the same.
I remember someone mentioning that sometimes when the T400 is woken from a sleep mode, both the integrated and discrete graphics will automatically turn on, increasing power consumption, and that you must switch them again to get the correct graphics. I've done so, but I'm still getting poor battery life.
Is anyone else having these issues, and if so, what can be done about them?
Also, I do not believe the battery is the issue, it's only three months old, and I've looked after it well.

Do you have the latest BIOS update?

Yes, I have the latest Bios, drivers, everything that I could find on Lenovo's support site.

I've noticed the same. I'm at 85% battery life remaining and have just over 5 hours projected. I have the 9-cell battery, max battery life and four bars of brightness, with Vista and the same power scheme I could get over 8 hrs total.
I hope someone has a solution they could share. -
There is a bug with the video drivers and coming out of sleep. Just switch between ati and back to intel to lower power consumption. Coming out of sleep it wants to use both graphics so power useage is even higher than just ati. This issue was brought up many times in beta testing but never got fixed. What was the point of beta then? Who knows...
Upgraded to Windows 7-Battery Life is gone!
