Hi all,
I have a IBM Thinkpad T21 with a 14.1" xga display panel. Is it possible to upgrade my machine to SXGA. Is it just a case of changing the LCD panel and data cable? I suspect there is more to it.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, ofcourse.
Many thanks

Actually, you'll also have to check to make sure the connector for the power inverter & the inverter itself is the right one. Other than that, I believe that's all that is required if IBM has an SXGA+ LCD for the T21's. The one main issue would be getting the LCD & cable at a decent price. If you bought this from IBM, it'll cost you around $700-$1000, this is of course, not a very cost effective upgrade. You can't just grab any LCD and plug it in. If you know someone who has a dead T21 with a working compatible SXGA+ LCD, you could proably strip all the required parts for their notebook and put it into yours. Other than this route, I'd recommend against changing the LCD (unless your is cracked).
