I have the i3 model but don't think the i3 is cut out for my gaming needs as it is overheating (mid 80's) every time I play. Does Lenovo have an option to upgrade to a better model(an i5 one) paying the difference?

An i5 in the same situation would create even more heat as it has Turbo Boost. Have you tried cleaning out your laptop's cooling system or anything like that? Also are you using your laptop on a flat surface, like a table?

Yes its on a table. Haven't tried cleaning it though. I had guessed that the i3 was always at its limit while gaming and that's why its heating up so much. I'll try the dedusting option in the thermal management settings. Thank you for your reply!

There's a option to let the laptop de-dust itself? I'd say that's pretty awesome.

What do you currently have it set to?

It was on efficient thermal dissipation under the crescent moon button. I ran two cycles of dedusting and now I'll give it a go and see if there is any change in the temps. Fingers crossed!
