    Hi,

I'm keen to increase my Video card capabilty from the current ATI Mobility FireGL v3200 (128Mb) to a better option. Is it possible to do so? IBM/Lenovo have no options available and I'm hoping someone has.

I'm also aware that my notebook has a PCI Express slot that is free. Is there an external Video card that can utilize the slot?

CPU speed is Intel Pentium M 2.13 GHz. Hope someone can let me know how to go about this matter.

    Thanks...
    D

Well, internally it would depend on the fact if the GPU/RAM is socketed or not, but for most notebooks the GPUs are not socketed and there are just a few (usual some notebook barebones or Dell notebooks) which use internally exchangable MXM or Axiom moduls (or a proprietary variation of both of moduls). - However, it's usually also an expensive task to change a notebook GPU which mostly is not worth the high costs.

I'am not sure if there is at all some GPU alternative for the external notebook PCI Express slot available at all, since a GPU usually gets very hot too and how should it be cooled there in a gracefully manner at all? - I can only imagine one for a docking station slot here so far.

True. Regarding the PCI-express expansion slot: bandwidth is way too low for modern day GPU and there would be no path for the video to go to, as there is no LVDS connection from the expansion slot to the panel.
