I'm trying to sell my X61 tablet. I'm curious if it would be more likely to go if I took the OS from Vista Business to Windows 7. The computer has the 1400x1050 resolution touch screen and not the multitouch.

    What do you all think?

Probably... To many people, Vista is like a bad word.

Oh absolutely, just make sure after the upgrade you test it and install/update any necessary drivers so that it is functioning exactly as (or better than) it does now. I'd say you'll easily get $50 - $100 more by upgrading the OS.

Depending on how much you get the Windows 7 Upgrade disk for, I'd do it.

Just put a beta of W7 and on there along with O2010 beta, dual boot and tell the sucker its their option which OS to choose later. If they want to get W7 then they can buy later. You can sell temporary eye candy without eating into your profit margin.

    Overclock the GPU?

Actually I have seen sellers on ebay do this very thing. They say that the machine has Win 7 and it does but the beta(written in the fine print).

I've seen eBay sellers do a lot of things that I would not necessarily condone.

just download Office2010 beta and say it has the latest. people may not want it and already have Office whatever version to install.
