Before you say anything else, I'm a college student that can't afford a new laptop. :( Anyways, I have a R400 that has a 1280x800 screen and I'm sick and tired of it. I want to upgrade it to the LG LED WXGA+ 1440x900 display because that seems to be the best screen for the T400/R400. I found the screen on Amazon for $125 and I would like to get some opinions from some of the gurus here of what I should do. Is it worth upgrading from 1280x800 to 1440x900? I know the LED WXGA+ screen will be a lot brighter but I'm talking about screen real estate. Please tell me if this is the correct model of the screen:

Take $125 and put it towards a T410...which already has a LED screen and is newer than R400.

You should be able to afford one for that sum plus the sale of your current ThinkPad.

As much as I would love to get rid of my R400, I can't because of the following reasons:

The bezel is cracked in two different parts.
    DVD/CD doesn't work
The battery is dead (it's got well over 600 cycles :D)
The cable/charger needs to be replaced because sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesn't.

Or I could sell it but probably for like $50 which won't be worth it.

    $10 or so on feebay

    see above

If you keep on using the machine with the dead battery plugged in, it will eventually blow the charging circuit on the motherboard.

    Once again, $10 or thereabouts...

And why would you dump $125 in a machine with several (minor for now) issues, instead of cutting your losses and moving on? You're not that far from a feebay-range for T410 at all...

    Your ThinkPad, your call...
