Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on how to upgrade my T500 from PC-DOS to Vista. I've downloaded Vista Business to my desktop computer from my MSDNAA account and am about to burn the resulting ISO to DVD. Do I just insert the DVD into the T500 and boot from there, and if so, how would I do that? Also, are there any driver issues which might arise? Thanks for the help.

    1) Burn the ISO to bank DVD

    2) Go into the bios via F1 on the Lenovo splash screen on bootup. Make sure your dvd drive is listed as the first boot device. This will allow your computer to boot via the disk instead of the hard drive (also to remember to change this back once windows is installed)

    3) Follow the steps on screen

    4) Follow this guide on NBR

    5) Enjoy your thinkpad!

Press F12 when booting. It'll give you the boot choices.

How did you manage to order your Thinkpad with PC-DOS? I also get Windows from MSDNAA and it would be nice to avoid the extra "tax"...

Some universities offer Thinkpads with DOS, or even no OS at all.
