My Lenovo T61 standard 1 year warranty ends in 2 months. Does anyone recommend me to upgrade it? Or should I just insure the laptop because it will protect against theft.

How is Lenovo Warranty? Support? How do they sell them? Coupon codes or phone codes?

    Thanks

I believe you can only purchase the warranty upgrades within 30 days of delivery.

Before you buy the extended warranty ask yourself this, would I rather have the warranty extended or put that money towards buying a new T61.

I think extended because the T61 was expensive when I bout it. I thought I could extend at anytime before the warranty ends?

My understanding is that you have 1 year from the time of purchase to buy the regular extended warranty and 30 days from the time of purchase to buy accidental.

    Integra144,

In practice, you can purchase a warranty extension as long as your system is still under warranty. You can only have 1 upgraded warranty option in place at a time.

Firesnake is correct that ThinkPad protection is only available during the first 30 days, and he is also correct that since most new systems ship with a base 1 year warranty, it works out that you would need to extend the warranty during the first year.

When can we start purchasing extended warranty for X200? There's still no option for extended warranty on Lenovo's web site.

I just extended my T61 warranty for 2 more years with~ $100. I think it worth to secure any technical problem with this $1000 machine.

Lenovo started sending out emails to extend warranty about a month before my base warranty expired.
