    Hi
I had my T400 motherboard replaced by 3rd party. The new mobo doesnt have Lenovo Serial. I think otherwise it is the same as Lenovo.

I wanted to buy recovery DVDs from ebay. I am not sure if those will work since the mobo is replaced. Will the DVDs check for the serial etc?

It would work, even if the components are slightly different, you can still use the recovery media, but obviously you would need to reinstall some drivers after you done the whole recovery process.
