I need help.

While in teh beginning stage of Vista installation. I picked my T61's local HD and delete the partition and created a partition then format. This was down all in the GUI in Vista Install. Upon reboot (obviously) there is no OS found. However for some strange reason now it goes on basically an infinite loop where I can not boot from DVD (Vista Disc) or USB HD (Vista install files saved @ root and bootable). I really do not know what to do at this stage. The computer is asking me if I want to modify the boot order..? To what!?
DVD takes 1st spot and USB HDD takes second.

I am stuck please anyone ??

Summary I have DVD vista install disk in drive and also USB HDD w/Vista install files. [IMG][/IMG]

In your bios... Turn AHCI off. When the installation is done, turn it back on.

AHCI worked. Thank you.

FYI. For Vista installs. You will get BSOD when you enable AHCI. Leave it and do the following.

Solution:

1. Exit all Windows-based programs.
2. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
3. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
5. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

Then reboot and enable AHCI.
