    Hi,

It would be great if I could use my T400s' LCD as a Monitor for some video sources on occasion.

Are those video out ports just output only by hardware or is this a driver thing? Maybe there are some utilities available that make it possible to connect a video source and watch it on the notebook?

Couldn't find anything on the web.

    Thank you!

    Max

they only output, if you need to use the LCD for video in purposes, then you would have the video capture equipments Expresscard,PCMCIA or usb solutions. These video qualities are usually not that great.

This is a hardware-bound function. To date, the only laptop I know that had a video-in port is the Lenovo IdeaPad Y730, which had a VGA port that had a switch to toggle between video in and video out.

Could it actually utilize the LCD monitor for video input, or did you have to output to an external monitor?

That's a pretty neat feature. It's a shame more notebooks don't have that.
