T530 with a NV5400 discrete graphic card. Since I run two virtual OSes in Vmware on my laptop, there is occasional warnings of insufficient system memory -- even though this machine has 8GB installed.

    My question is:

If I set in the BIOS to use discrete card only, will it disable the integrated graphic card? As a result, the memory allocated to Intel Graphic Interface will be conserved and used for the OS?

And how much memory will be saved?

I do not often run my laptop with battery so battery life is not a concern.

If you look at Intel graphics properties, you will notice:

That is, the system memory used by Intel graphics is insignificant in the overall context.

If you're serious about your VM work, seriously consider bumping up your RAM to 16 GB.
