Not a good idea. Read on.

The AC adapter could overheat, and the machine *will* throttle.

I remember seeing reports of some of the newer W units refusing to power on with the 90W adapter to begin with, but I can't recall which ones exactly these were.

    Quite some time ago, I tested a 90W and 65W adapter on a W530.

For 65W adapter, W530 refused to recognize and the 65W adapter seems non-existant.

For 90W adapter, W530 displayed a message of insufficient power, but seemed getting charged.

What do you mean by "throttle"?

Thanks so much for your input!
