Okay So ive been using the Factory Lenovo Install. Whenever I had a dell I always reloaded it with the Dell DVD disk since its usually a retail install.

Would I get any better or faster results by doing this on my Y470? Compaired to the factory OS? I have the drivers backed up that were on the Partition. Im not new to restoring so I can do it, I just wonder if anyone has done it or if I would get better or same results as I do with the Lenovo Install.

It depends. One great aspect of a non-OEM install of Windows is that you don't get all of the trail programs/useless programs found on most consumer based computers. Some people say their computers feel quicker when opening programs/etc. while others don't see any difference. If you're happy with what you have now, keep it the way it is. If not, it's pretty easy to make your own Windows 7 disk: http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html

I've been fine with the "Lenovo Experience" so far. I haven't had a compelling reason to do a fresh install because so far the laptop has been blazing fast.

Well I have the Windows 7 64x Dell DVD. I can use and just use the COA from the bottom of my y470.

But I didnt want to fool with it, if its not gonna make a difference. I know on Dells I sure did lol

When I think about it, I think the biggest reason why I haven't done a clean install of Windows is because I wanted to play Skyrim sooner and not risk having to spend several days sorting out what went wrong with RapidDrive or something .
