    Using a T61 fan in a T60?

    Maybe one of you who can make sense of the service manuals could figure this out: Would it be possible to swap the fan in a T60p out for one of the new fans with the owl-wing blades from the t61? If it truly runs quieter than the old fan I would love to try it. Possibly you could just order a new fan assembly and take out the fan itself?

    the entire cooling system is redisigned so Im not too sure about that.

    Nice idea, but I highly doubt they would be interchangable. Hope I'm wrong. I'd love to have the silent power of the Lenovo owl in the classic IBM T60p.

    Yes, very quiet. So quiet all I hear is the ringing in my ear (I think old computer masked it).
