Hi all. I am thinking about getting the T61 with the great discounts they have going on right now. I will be doing mostly surfing, programming and would like to do some lite photoshop/lightroom work as I do the majority on my desktop. I have read and heard the screens aren't that bright and don't have great contrast. Is this the case? Is it possible to do "some" photoshop work with the screen?

I have posted the faq in case anyone has a better system in mind. Thank you!

I do photoshop work all the time. The screen is fine. It is not the "warmest" screen I've seen but it's very adequate.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ok, that's great to hear. Do you have the 14" or 15.4" Any recommendations for one over the other? I was thinking of getting the 15.4 and wsxga+ as my current laptop has that config.

I have a 15.5" screen. I find it hard to believe that everyone does not want one but there are people who prefer the 15.4 inch format.

I'm a developer and the wide screen format is perfect for visual studio. And yes I have wsxga+.

I've had the widescreen format for 4 years and couldn't switch back and yes, it is perfect for VS. Now I'm at a loss for what to get, but I'll post a q in the proper forum :) Thanks for the help.
