Just thought i would share this to see if its happened to anyone else. I have a Lenovo 3000 V100, about 6 months old now. Just today I tried to start it and it was dead. When you turn it on only the power light comes on and nothing else. So I called IBM service and they say it looks like a bad motherboard. So anyway they said that they would send someone over to take a look at it, thought they couldnt tell me when this person would arrive. What would be the procedure now if its a bad motherboard? Replace the board or replace the notebook. And if the board needs to be replaced would they be able to do it at my office? Because I cant sit for days without my machine. Any info that you can give me will be much appriciated.
    Thanks

If they do need to replace it, they will most likely take the whole notebook away, or at least that is what I think. They probably can't do the repair at the office, because they want to have the tools and diagnostic things on hand to help them to repair. You may be able to ask them how long they think it will take.

Well just to let you know where I stand. The motherboard is toast but they say that there arnt any in the country (South Africa) so they gonna have to import one, which should take 4 days but then it might sit in customs for 3 weeks being cleared. I really dont feel like waiting that long for my notebook to be repaired. You think its asking abit much for them just to replace the whole machine?
