I'm thinking of getting either the ideapad Y400 or Y410. I don't need the very best gaming rig, just a very fast processor and some at least fair graphics card. But I will need to connect it to VGA-only old projectors. It's unclear from the website if both models have VGA ports -- does anyone know?
    Thanks!

The IdeaPad Y400 does indeed have a VGA port:

I would assume the Y410 does as well, so you should be fine with either.

I would assume that too,but the specs page doesn't list it...

Here, I just found an image of the Y410p's ports from Lenovo's website. It does indeed have a VGA port (the port layout is identical to that of the Y400p).
