Are the isolation keyboards on the Vaio Z any better than the T410?
-
Better is subjective. Go check some out.

After going chiclet > thinkpad keyboard (luckily got the NMB ones), I can't go back. The best chic so far is on the Macbooks sadly.
But then again, check them out in person to best compare. -
I was considering both a few months ago.
However the price difference was too big to be a real competitor.
When similarly equipped, Vaio Z was about 30-40% more expensive. -
I used the Sony VAIO chiclet keyboard myself and I admit that I struggle on them as i'm pretty used to the ThinkPad layout. But as others mentioned it's best to try out the Chiclet keyboards yourself to see whether it suit you as one person's experience may not necessary be the same for you.

I think one can get used to typing on any keyboard. That being said, the thinkpad keyboard are the best I've ever used on a laptop.

I actually have both the T410 and the Sony Z.
I think that I slightly prefer the T410 keyboard over the Sony Z, but I don't really find my typing hindered by either.
I've written 5000+ word documents on both. It's a toss-up. -
after having a Z for over a year, and now with a t400, i can honestly say I got used to the Z keyboard so much its hard use anything else.
I even got used to not having dedicated pgup/down keys.
anyway, me fingers loved typing on the Z better. -
aside from the main topic,
I have used VGN-Z, VPC-Z, X200, X200s, X200T, X41
I can definitely say that I get less typing error with thinkpad's kb. -
I've tried the macbook pros they were pretty good actually, I still prefer the Thinkpad keyboard. I type faster with with a thinkpad because I feel around the keys a lot. If your the average person I don't think you would have a problem with the chicklet keys.

The title of this thread is misleading.
